Le Tourment Vert Brings Green to Sundance

The French Absinthe Le Tourment Vert participated as a sponsors for this year's 2009 Sundance Film Festival, which is celebrating its 25th year of showcasing independent filmmaking and cinematic storytelling. The fabled spirit was on display and poured at all official Sundance events and at The Sundance Lift.

"We are pleased to welcome Le Tourment Vert as a sponsor this year, a company, which embraces the creative spirit that imbues our festival every year," comments festival operations director Sarah Pearce.

Minott Wessinger of Le Tourment Vert adds: "We take great pride in supporting the prestigious Sundance Film Festival, which truly celebrates the independent film spirit that drives filmmaking and storytelling. Le Tourment Vert's mission is to reinforce the creative impulse, and the class of artists that perpetuates that impulse, and sponsoring this festival, which has done this for 25 years, is a true honor."

Le Tourment Vert, described as accessible and easily mixable, was featured in specialty cocktails for the festival including The Sundance Lift, Poison Apple Martini, Green on Main and Triple French Martini.

In June 2008, Le Tourment Vert launched a full-service film production company, Tourmented Films, which debuted with a 10-minute short film entitled "The Butler's in Love," directed by David Arquette and starring Arquette, Elizabeth Berkley and Thomas Jane. The film was produced in next generation 3-D technology in partnership with Kerner Optical. Le Tourment Vert will continue its mission throughout 2009, according to the brand, with a series of events and activities aimed at supporting and acknowledging the creative class.
